Make-Up Favorites

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved make-up! I can still remember for my 12th birthday (that was how old we had to be before we could wear make-up) my mom bought me my first eye-shadows and mascara. It was a tradition that she did with each one of us girls.  Hayley had dark lashes already so my mom bought her "clear" mascara and she had a fit. I can still remember her face when she realized it was not black mascara! I think my mom ended up buying her real mascara shortly after.

I decided to share some of my favorite make-up products and also get any products or tips that you would like to share.

EYESHADOW: My favorite eye-shadows are from MAC. The trick to long-lasting, true color look is to use MACS eyeshadow paints. I wear Painterly every single day under my eye-shadows. By putting a primer or paint on first the color looks like it does in the container and will last all day long. You can try using other paint colors too for more dramatic look.

EYELINER: I just started using liquid eyeliner, just a cheap one from NYC. I use it only to line the top of my eye. It lasts all day as well and doesn't smear to the top of the lid.

MASCARA: L'Oreal Voluminous in Blackest Black is my favorite mascara, it gives me full dark lashes.

BRONZER: The key to a good bronzer for me is NO SHIMMER. I used a mineral bronzer from Mac for a while but I looked like a disco ball if I put on just the slightest bit too much. I recently looked up what Bronzer Kim Kardashian wears, cause lets face it her makeup is flawless. It is Smashbox Bronze Lights in Suntan Matte... I love it! No shimmer, great shade and you can build it up or wear it more natural.

LIPS: Since I have smaller lips I prefer to do a natural look, to not draw to much attention to how small my lips are, thanks DAD :). I recently purchased NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Madere, it is a perfect nude, but needs to be paired with a gloss, since it is so matte. I like to wear either a clear gloss or NARS Chelsea Girls for a slight pink-nude look.

FACE: This is where you come into play. I need some advice on face foundation. For years I have worn Teinte Idol from Lancome, but I feel like I need a change. My friend swears by Bare Minerals, and have thought about trying that out as well. What face foundation do you like? I'm looking for one that lasts all day long...aren't we all!

Veterans Weekend

I am so grateful for three story Forever 21's! This Veterans Weekend we took a trip down to Riverside to shop in Heaven's closet, also known as the three story Forever 21. I couldn't help but dread over the things I desperately needed (or wanted). Shopping there was a life changing experience in my world, and a day I will remember for a lifetime. Afterwards we to took a trip to Sephora to paint our nails. You know the workers get annoyed when they stare at you for twenty minutes, and then ask you if you need any help. I really needed her to paint my other hand, but that would be somewhat awkward. It was so weird hearing Christmas music already playing, event though Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet and I couldn't be happier with all of this cold weather! Summer was way too long this year, with 105 degree days and ugly brown hills in need for water. And now with all the rain we have received, I can finally bring out my coats and boots for the fall!

Egg yoken' the face

This past weekend I went and picked up my cousin Kiersten on my way home from work to come stay the night with Kenna and me.  It was such a fun night to be able to hang out, laugh, do makeup and hair, take pictures, and last but not least...Facials! I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the egg yoke mask before, but for those of you who haven't, this is what it consists of:
1. Crack open 1 egg
2. Seperate the whites from the yoke
3. Apply yoke with fingers all over the face....Disgusting? Yes.
As you can see, we got carried away with it and could not stop laughing because of how hard, and wrinkly it makes the face look and feel. BUT, after washing it off, you'll have the softest skin! Try it..I dare you.

My Walmart Embarrasment

Now lets be honest, Walmart is the place to go to when you want the best deals, right? But the risk of going to Walmart is being surrounded by white trash. Yes is said it WHITE TRASH! And even though we all shop there, it's more often than not we see 'unique' human beings we regret looking at. If you don't believe me, check out peopleofwalmart.com, and see it for your selves. And trust me you will not be disappointed!  Soooooo, last night Hayley and I had some last minute shopping to do, and where was it at? WALMART!! Thinking I would blend in with my surroundings, I wore my very unfashionable pajama pants that have lived for over 5 years, and have been worn by all 3 of my sisters (sisterhood of the traveling pants). They are ripped and have a black hand print smack dab on the right butt cheek, attractive right? I had no make-up, hair looking like a rat's nest, and just a sports bra under my sweatshirt!! So we walk into Walmart and I thought the coast was clear, until I see people I know in  every corner of the store. I can honestly say it was more awkward than going to school thinking it was crazy hair day, but that's a different story. We were in candy isle when I started to get hot, so I began to pull down the zipper of my jacket and realized after I am just wearing a sports bra! And with my luck a creepy man was looking right in my direction, taking notice to my ugly white belly. We were in there for a few minutes yet it felt like a few hours. Hayley wouldn't even walk next to me cause she was embarrassed by my appearance! Isn't she an amazing sister? We get home, and I soon find out that she took a pic of me (picture above) and posted it on facebook! I am sure you all have some interesting stories at Walmart you are dying to share, and you are more than welcome to tell!
Can't wait to hear!
